Marketing to Your Existing Dental Patients

It may surprise you to learn that the best place to start marketing is inside your own practice. Selling to your current dental patients is much easier than trying to bring in new ones. They already have loyalty to your office, so it shouldn’t be too hard to bring them in for things they already need.

Marketing to Existing Patients

  • Re-Care – Re-care is the lifeline of your dental practice. Making sure that you see each of your patients at least twice a year is what builds your schedule. The average patient recall is around 11 months, so it’s important to devise a strategy to keep your hygiene schedule full. This can include better staff training, timely communications, pre-scheduling, and reminders.
  • Relationship – Continuing a relationship with your patients is a good way to remain on their radar. Some of your patients will simply neglect their oral health and around 3% will be influenced away by other recommendations from friends. Organizing an outreach program for dormant patients can be very successful.
  • Patient Experience – Your ability to create a positive experience for each of your patients is the best form of marketing. Greet patients with a smile, make sure your office runs smoothly and on time, and deliver great dental care. This will keep them coming back and may even lead to referrals!
