Multi-Location Dental Practice

Multi-Dental LocationsIf you’re considering opening a multi-location dental office, it can sometimes be hard to determine the right time for an expansion. While there isn’t a one-size-fits-all answer, there are a few things to consider before pursuing this particular business model.

Are You Prepared To Open A Multi-Location Practice?

Below are just a few of the many things to consider before making the decision to expand your dental practice:

  • Finding The Right Associates – If you decide to open another dental location, you’ll have a few options. You can either practice less (as there will likely not be enough time to run multiple locations and practice full time as well), or you can delegate some of the work. Make sure you take the time to find someone motivated and reliable enough to trust with your practice.

  • Population/Prospect Of Growth – The most important thing you can do before expanding is to study the growth estimates and the current population of the areas you may be considering. This can help you make a concrete decision about the location of a second practice.

  • Possible Competition – It’s incredibly important to have a marketing plan in place for a new practice. Once patients are comfortable with a dentist in their area, it may be difficult to persuade them to visit your office instead. You should have a solid marketing strategy in place before you ever open the doors of your new location.

It will take a lot of hard work to open a multi-location practice and make it successful. But if you do your due diligence and take your time, we promise the payoff will be worth the work!
